At Island, we’re entering our next phase of explosive growth — and we’re looking for our first BDR Leader to help lead the charge. If you’re a scrappy, strategic builder who thrives in the zero-to-one stage, loves developing high-performing teams, and isn’t afraid to get on the phone when needed, this is your moment.

You’ll be the architect and hands-on leader of our global BDR function. That means everything from hiring and coaching our first reps, to designing outbound processes, implementing prospecting tech stacks, and scaling the team from the ground up. You’ll be critical in laying the foundation for a team that could scale from 0 to 10, 20, or even 50 BDRs across multiple regions — and fast.

Note: This position is 100% in-office at our Coppell, TX headquarters near Dallas (Monday through Friday). We believe collaboration and culture thrive face-to-face, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Building the Team:

  • Hire, train, and coach a team of BDRs from scratch — starting small, growing fast.
  • Establish team culture, set performance expectations, and build a high-energy, accountable environment.

Operationalizing Success:

  • Develop the BDR playbook: lead gen strategies, outreach cadences, qualification frameworks, and pipeline handoffs.
  • Roll up your sleeves to test, iterate, and improve outbound efforts across channels (phone, email, social, etc.).

Driving Performance:

  • Monitor KPIs and team performance, and take a data-driven approach to coaching and process improvement.
  • Work closely with sales leadership and marketing to align on ICP, messaging, and lead sourcing strategies.

Scaling Smart:

  • Lead global expansion of the BDR team — managing time zones, cultures, and scaling needs as we grow.
  • Select, implement, and optimize prospecting tools (dialers, sequencing tools, enrichment tech, etc.).

Getting In the Trenches:

  • This isn’t a clipboard role. You’ll lead by example, jumping in on calls, reviewing messaging, and being hands-on where needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in BDR/SDR leadership, with a background in hiring, building, and scaling teams.
  • Experience managing global or distributed teams is a major plus.
  • A strong grasp of modern outbound strategies and the tools that power them.
  • A builder mentality: you’ve created processes, not just followed them.
  • A natural coach and motivator — you know how to push your team to hit goals and grow professionally.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills — you’re as comfortable presenting a forecast as you are writing a cold call script.
  • Deep collaboration experience with sales, marketing, and operations partners.
  • SaaS experience required. Cybersecurity enterprise experience is a bonus.
