As a Staff Frontend/NodeJS Engineer at Inworld, you will pursue both speed and quality as you contribute myriad ideas, features and improvements to our React-based web experience and to projects that utilize NodeJS.
Note that a number of our most interesting projects aren’t publicly announced, so we can’t go into much detail here. That said, please apply and we can discuss further.
This is an IC-focused role. We are looking for someone who loves direct technical contribution.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Backend and ML Engineers, QA and more to identify, refine, and prioritize the most impactful projects we can pursue
- Design, develop, test, and launch features and improvements, both on our developer-focused web app and for NodeJS projects
- Keep improving our web app experience via time-tested design principles: clarity, consistency, feedback, etc., in collaboration with our designers (or even contribute to design yourself if you have the appropriate skills and speed)
- Similarly, ship NodeJS code that is async, modular/well-structured, idiomatic, etc.
- Lean into AI-assisted coding, which is proving very useful for amplifying frontend and NodeJS development.
Expected experience
- Excellent programming skills and experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, and NodeJS
- Experience developing complex React apps, using popular libraries such as React Router and React Query
- Experience with:
- MUI or similar
- Emotion or similar
- PostCSS or similar
- React Testing Library, Playwright or similar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, can collaborate and coordinate with other roles and engineer with ease, trusted and well-regarded teammate
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with Cursor or other AI-assisted coding tools
- Familiarity with turborepo
- Experience building AI-centric web apps and familiarity with AI and ML concepts
Candidates must be based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate (you will be working on-site in our South Bay office a few days a week).
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $270,000. In addition to base pay, total compensation includes equity and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, level, and additional factors, including competencies, experience, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
