 The Role

The Sales & Marketing Manager is a dynamic and entrepreneurial role that leads InterDev’s client acquisition and brand development efforts. The Sales & Marketing Manager is a “player-coach” who excels at both strategic planning and tactical execution. Key responsibilities include developing and executing sales and marketing strategies, building a high-performing sales team, and ensuring the systems and processes are in place to drive recurring revenue and client acquisition.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Leadership
    • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing plans to achieve aggressive growth targets approved by the CEO.
    • Set direction, prioritize activities, and ensure execution of successful sales campaigns.
    • Track, analyze, and report on sales KPIs to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop pricing, positioning, and product messaging.
    • Maintain high level of expertise and deep understanding of client contracts to ensure performance and adherence of contract terms and deliverables.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled sales meetings with appropriate internal stakeholders.
    • Participate in events including conferences, tradeshows, webinars, and onsite meetings with prospects and partners. 
  • Team Development & Management
    • Continue to build on and develop a high-performing sales team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure sales and profit KPI’s are met and/or exceeded.
    • Establish, implement and track KPI’s for the sales team.
    • Oversee and ensure growth and development of sales team members through identifying and implementing effective training programs.
    • Conduct regular sales meetings and coaching sessions to promote accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Marketing
    • Own and execute the company’s marketing strategy utilizing resources from outsourced vendors as needed.
    • Manage relationships with external marketing partners (digital agencies, designers, copywriters).
    • Coordinate campaigns (email, web, SEO, events) to drive brand awareness and lead generation.
    • Develop and maintain marketing materials, case studies, and thought leadership content.
    • Monitor marketing metrics and ROI across channels.
  • Client Engagement & Business Development
    • Serve as the external face of InterDev, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and strategic meetings.
    • Cultivate relationships with key prospects, partners, and vendors across the Southeast and Midwest.
    • Expand InterDev’s footprint in both government and small-to-mid-sized commercial markets.


    Additional Responsibilities

  • Initiate, or assist with, development of positive vendor relationships to optimize revenue and profitability outcomes.
  • Regularly review industry publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
  • Perform other duties and tasks which may be assigned from time to time by the CEO.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Working knowledge of marketing fundamentals, including digital and content marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage outsourced marketing vendors or agencies.
  • Excellent follow-through skills.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in a professional sales and marketing role required.
  • Minimum 3 years in management role leading a team of direct reports.
  • Strong track record of individual sales success, ideally within the IT or MSP space.
  • Experience selling into local government and/or commercial markets preferred.
  • Established network or relationships in the Southeastern or Midwestern U.S.
  • Proven ability to lead sales teams, manage pipelines, and negotiate and close complex deals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ CRM application experience.

Travel

  • This position requires travel to client sites, conferences, and trade shows.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and functions in a hybrid work. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.


Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. There will be prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Candidate must successfully complete background screening and drug screening upon acceptance of position.
