Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. The Isaacs Center focuses primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager of Engagement Initiatives, the Tech & Media Sector Career Services Coordinator is responsible for building strong relationships with employers across NYC’s tech and media industries and connecting program participants to internships, apprenticeships, and full-time employment. The Coordinator works with young adults enrolled in sector-based training (Advance & Earn, Per Scholas), ensuring they are connected to relevant, high-growth career pathways. The role balances proactive employer outreach, participant job matching, coaching for job readiness, and compliance-driven data tracking and reporting.
Schedule: 35 hours a weeks
Salary Range: $64,350 - $66,280.50
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Employer Engagement & Partnership Development – 40%
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers in NYC’s tech and media sectors, such as:
- Software engineering, IT support, data analytics, cybersecurity, UX/UI, and product management.
- Digital marketing, content creation, social media, video production, audio engineering, graphic design, media technology, and creative production.
- Conduct employer outreach through networking, partnerships, LinkedIn, industry events, and employer coalitions (e.g., JobsFirst NYC, Tech:NYC, MOME).
- Collaborate with employers to develop internship, apprenticeship, freelance, and full-time placement opportunities for graduates.
- Facilitate employer involvement in Advance & Earn programming, such as mock interviews, panels, portfolio reviews, and site visits.
- Represent the program at relevant industry and workforce convenings.
Job Matching, Placement & Retention – 30%
- Identify and match job-ready program graduates with relevant employment opportunities based on skills, training, and career interests.
- Guide participants through the job search process: resume refinement, interview prep, application submissions, salary negotiation, onboarding.
- Support participants and employer’s post-placement to promote retention, track 30-,90-, and 180-day+ milestones, and foster advancement.
- Leverage alumni networks to build talent pipelines and employer feedback loops.
Program Collaboration & Youth Engagement – 15%
- Work closely with Advance & Earn case managers, career staff, instructors, and wraparound services staff to ensure participants are job-ready.
- Align employer feedback with ongoing improvements to the sector-based training curriculum (e.g., Per Scholas model).
- Attend case conferencing and team meetings to stay aligned on participant progress.
- Support the design and facilitation of job readiness workshops (e.g., digital portfolios,
- Work closely with the wraparound services team to address participant barriers to employment (e.g., housing, childcare, legal issues).
- Promote a trauma-informed, youth-centered, and inclusive culture across all programming.
- Step in to provide support during participant crises or behavioral escalations, as needed
- LinkedIn, creative resumes, interview etiquette).
Compliance, Data Management & Reporting – 10%
- Accurately track employer engagement, placements, and retention outcomes in systems such as Salesforce, DYCD Connect, Advance & Earn portal, and internal spreadsheets.
- Ensure data is current and aligned with DYCD contractual requirements and internal reporting needs.
- Contribute to grant reporting, dashboards, and funder updates as needed.
- Analyze placement trends to inform strategy and sector alignment.
Other Duties – 5%
- Participate in special projects, organizational events, or other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant workforce development experience serving vulnerable populations
- Established network/relationships with funders, employers, hiring companies, job training programs, and educational opportunity providers across New York City.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, networking, negotiation (conflict management and resolution), and presentation skills.
- Ability to work some flexible hours (e.g., evenings and weekends)
- Strong knowledge of NYC labor market, youth employment barriers, and employer engagement and understanding of career pathways within Technology & Media Production industries
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and leading with cultural competence.
- Proficient in data systems (e.g., Salesforce, Efforts to Outcomes, DYCD Connect) and MS Office Suite.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
