The Opportunity
Lead, mentor, and develop teams responsible for procurement, travel, AP, payroll, and equity.
Design and execute a scalable operating model for core accounting operations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with company strategy.
Oversee end-to-end processes and operations.
Implement policies, controls, and systems to drive automation, workflow improvements, and optimization.
Manage timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, T&E reports, and disbursements.
Ensure compliance with company policy, SOX/internal controls, and tax/regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Partner with HR and Benefits teams to support payroll changes, audits, and year-end filings (e.g., W-2s).
Lead or support finance transformation initiatives.
Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards for operational performance and compliance.
Coordinate with external auditors on audit requests related to payroll, AP, procurement, and equity
Work closely with other departments to provide accounting expertise and support
The Skillset
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
10+ overall years of accounting operations experience.
Deep expertise in procurement, AP, payroll, and equity best practices and compliance.
Strong understanding of ERP systems.
Experience leading system implementations and process transformations.
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Familiarity working in a public company, SOX-compliant environment.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

90 Days at Flock
The First 30 Days
Learn the company and organization
Meet with direct reports, key team members, and cross-functional stakeholders (HR, FP&A, Legal, Accounting)
Establish rapport with external vendors and service providers (e.g., payroll processors).
Review end-to-end processes and existing documentation of policies and processes
Begin benchmarking current KPIs (e.g., days payable outstanding, on-time payments, error rates, off-cycle payrolls).
The First 60 Days
Identify process inefficiencies, compliance gaps or risks, potential enhancements to policies
Improve or develop documentation for policies and procedures (e.g., procurement policy, T&E guidelines, payroll handbook).
Assess systems and tools and identify opportunities for automation or better use of systems/tools.
Introduce operational metrics and dashboards to drive accountability.
90 Days & Beyond
Launch process improvements or system enhancements (e.g., additional AP automation).
Begin implementing policy changes and training business users as needed.
Roll out KPIs and dashboards for Procurement, AP, and Payroll.
Establish routines for operational reviews (weekly metrics, monthly close updates).
Develop a roadmap to scale operations for growth and enhance systems/tools
The Interview Process

Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background and what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are.
The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.
The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners, all individually during one interview stage (3 30-minute interviews).
The Executive Review: A chance to meet with our Chief People Officer and CEO to view Flock from a different lens. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more (2 30-minute interviews).
Salary & Equity
In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $2225,000 - $300,000 as well as stock options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
