Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Assists the Head Athletic Trainer/Associate AD - Sports Medicine with coordination and administration of Athletic Training/ Sports Medicine services in a manner that provides for competent and complete medical care for all student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics, under the direction of the Medical Director and Team Physician and in conjunction with the Athletic Director.
Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student-athletes. Administers first aid to injured athletes and applies protective devices such as taping, bandaging, or bracing.
Assists Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician(s) in determining whether an athlete is fit for participation in an athletic function.
Assists in the administration of the Sports Medicine Department, medical documentation and health history, pre-participation physical examinations, echocardiograms, practice and game coverage of assigned teams, travel as necessary, daily responsibilities within the Athletic Training Room and routine maintenance of equipment.
Works cooperatively with and under the direction of the Medical Director and Team Physicians with respect to the operation of the therapeutic devices, modalities, and equipment, along with fitting of braces, guards, or other medical devices.
Aids in Student Athlete referrals to physicians, clinics, or hospitals as medically necessary. Coordinates and submits spreadsheets of completion of all medical requirements to the Compliance Office.
Assist the Head ATC with coordination of dates, times, and location of PPEs with coaches and FAU Team Physicians/Baptist Health/BRRH/and its affiliates.
Works cohesively with the Head Athletic Trainer to gather and maintain current primary insurance information on student athletes, and communicate secondary insurance information with necessary providers (as applicable), international office, and other necessary entities per the Head ATC.
Evaluates new athletic training products when necessary and work cohesively to maintain inventory with fellow assistant athletic trainers.
Perform other job-related duties that may be initiated as requested by the Head Athletic Trainer.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of directly related professional experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the appropriate area of specialization and three years of directly related professional experience required.Successful experience as a graduate assistant or intern in an athletic program is acceptable for up to one year of the required experience.
Possess or be able to obtain the National Athletic Trainer Associate Certificate required.
Valid Florida Driver's License required.
