Job Description
The Role
We are seeking a Content Operations Specialist who will enable Fastmarkets’ price reporters to deliver crucial business intelligence by ensuring that all our value-added content meets the high standards that make Fastmarkets a world-leading commodities data price-reporting agency (PRA); seeking to continuously improve editorial tasks and processes; and contributing to the development and delivery of training material and exercises.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Edit copy swiftly without compromising on accuracy, consistency and compliance with regulatory oversight, ensuring consistent quality and expert tone everywhere.
- Help reporters deliver content that is rich in market intelligence and added value, enabling our customers to gain the competitive edge they demand.
- Ensure all content is clear, error-free, well-written and engaging, minimizing corrections and removing libel.
- Learn to become adept at technology and process innovation to improve editorial procedures and content generation.
- Develop fluency in how Fastmarkets deploys AI and automation to enhance editorial outputs and create efficiencies while remaining within ethical and legal boundaries.
- Based on that knowledge, assist in developing and delivering training on writing and editorial best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills and an ability to judge if, where and how content needs to be edited.
- The ability to react quickly and intelligently to copy-handling demands across multiple channels and subject matters in a fast-paced, digitally driven, global newsroom
- An affinity for working with data.
- Excellent communication and social skills, particularly in delivering feedback to writers and editors around the world on their copy.
- A cool head when tasks are stacking up and a problem-solving mindset, including knowing when and how to enlist the help of colleagues and managers
- A quick learner who can become proficient in new technologies as needed through hands-on experience.
- Experience of working or studying remotely as part of a team.
- Comfort with extended periods of focus at a computer screen.
- Evidence of commitment and achievement relevant to the role.
KEY INTERFACES
- You report to the regional Content Operations Manager.
- You remain in constant contact with members of the Content & Pricing Operations team and the reporting teams, locally and globally.
- As well as providing insightful and actionable feedback to reporters, analysts and their managers, you are receptive to suggestions from colleagues, acting upon the feedback you receive to become even better at the role.
- You build and maintain constructive relationships with other parts of the company.
