We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development and support of DeltaV hardware products. This includes electronics design and testing, embedded software development, and mechanical design. This leader will drive innovation and execution across the full hardware lifecycle—from concept through launch and sustaining—ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance. 

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL: 

  • Drive technical excellence in hardware design, including analog, digital signal processing, embedded software, EMI/EMC compliance, and hazardous area certification. 
  • Ensure thorough verification and validation practices including functional, environmental, robustness, and compliance testing. 
  • Work in close coordination with software development, product engineering, supply chain and manufacturing to align design objectives and deliver cohesive, production-ready solutions 
  • Lead all aspects of the mechanical design of enclosures and chassis, ensuring compliance with thermal, structural, and manufacturability requirements. 
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance while coordinating development timelines, resolving resource conflicts, and managing risks for multiple active projects. 
  • Champion continuous improvement in design processes, documentation, and design for manufacturability/testability. 
  • Provide mentorship, career development, and performance management for team members. 
  • Partner with Marketing and Architecture to align feature backlog with business needs. 
  • Estimate project cost and development timelines in collaboration with architecture and engineering leads. 
  • Engage and manage third-party development partners to augment internal design capabilities.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware development with at least 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Strong technical background in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and product testing. 
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and mechanical design integration. 
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and design for high reliability. 
  • Proven success managing multi-functional engineering teams and delivering complex projects. 
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without need for sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

  • Familiarity with DeltaV architecture and industrial automation systems. 
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., process, power, oil & gas). 
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and functional safety standards 
  • Exposure to hardware cybersecurity concepts.
