Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $50,000 - $70,000.

The Guidance Counselor supports diploma and credit-seeking students to ensure the highest quality experience and outcomes. This position collaborates with all stakeholders to ensure student success including the admissions team, enrollment team, Success Coaches, district and affiliate partners, and consumer leadership. This role requires efficiency and accuracy while auditing and evaluating transcripts. The Guidance Counselor must also have a partner mentality working with families, and district or affiliate partners to help students choose the correct courses to lead them to not only graduation but also success in achieving their goals after high school.
Job Responsibilities Include:
· Develop, document, and execute a defined counseling program.
· Provide prospective and existing students and parents with the highest level of customer service through effective Zoom, phone, and email communication.
· Coach students and families throughout the admissions and enrollment process and support a smooth transition into either EdOptions Academy or Apex Learning Virtual School.
· Advise and support students through the transcript evaluation process for reviewing credits earned, course placement, and development of a personalized roadmap to graduation.
· Supporting students, families, and partners in ensuring NCAA eligibility.
· Act as a liaison between the school, students, and family concerns, diploma requirements, and student progress.
· Provide students with accurate, timely, and comprehensive information on the school policies and practices.
· Advise students regarding academic or attendance issues to ensure resolution toward corrective action.
· Proactively identify potential barriers within the student academic process and initiate steps resulting in resolution.
· Adheres to standard policies governing our students and courses, while advocating on behalf of clients when the situation dictates.
· Collaborates with team members to deliver a high-quality student and family experience.
· Ability to multitask with shifting priorities, grace under pressure, ability to use various resources to problem solve and keen attention to detail is key to this role.
· Ability to learn different software and programs including Salesforce, Genius, ELM, Parchment, report platforms, MS office, Share Point, and more.
· Ability to learn different platforms used by our students, APEX, Courseware, Calvert, and more.
· Ability to be flexible, manage change, and work across various support teams to support the student and family experience.
· Ability to be solution oriented, deescalated, and work to help the customer feel successful after the interaction.
· Meet and exceed established performance indicators.
· Individual areas of responsibility/ownership in addition to the common tasks shared by the team in areas deemed appropriate.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements Include:
· Master’s degree (MEd) in School Counseling · Minimum 2-5 years of K-12 with a focus on 6-12 education experience

Preferred Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree (MEd) in School Counseling
· One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 to 5 years of high school student counseling experience.
