Position Summary:
The Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and software solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-focused applications that meet business requirements. This role will focus on understanding the domain and its uniqueness, gathering requirements, optimizing software development processes for quality and velocity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive successful software project outcomes. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, the Software Business Analyst will play a critical role in translating business objectives into technical requirements and supporting the software development lifecycle.
Essential functions, responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders, such as product managers, developers, and end-users, to collect, analyze, and document comprehensive software requirements.
- Develop process flows, user stories, and use cases to define software functionality and enhance user experience.
- Analyze business and user data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for software improvements.
- Convert business requirements into concise, actionable technical specifications that align with project objectives, ensuring development teams are well-equipped for implementation.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives) to support iterative development and delivery.
- Assist in developing test cases, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating software solutions to ensure they meet business needs.
- Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and meetings to align stakeholders and communicate project progress and requirements.
- Support the integration of software solutions with existing systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, or APIs) to ensure seamless functionality.
- Develop documentation, user guides, and training materials to promote end-user adoption of new software features.
- Stay current with software industry trends and recommend enhancements to development processes and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile certifications preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development or a related role.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar for managing requirements and workflows.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, or Power BI) to support decision-making.
- Familiarity with software platforms such as Salesforce, Workday ERP, Dynamics 365, or custom-built applications.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing and software implementation projects.
- Experience with Healthcare and/or background checks preferred.
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles or API integration is a plus.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST
- This position can and will have on-call requirements.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Walk (occasionally), sit- up to 8hrs. a day, stand (occasionally), use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, able to lift-up to 15lbs.(occasionally).
