Position Overview

KSL-TV is on the lookout for a creative and driven Streaming Producer to help grow and enhance our presence on digital platforms. We’re committed to delivering news where and how our audiences consume it, and streaming is a key part of that mission. The Streaming Producer will play a pivotal role in producing live programming on our KSL+ streaming app, developing local shows and segments, and ensuring KSL’s streaming content is timely and audience focused.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Produce live daily newscasts, in-depth specials, and original content for KSL+ streaming platforms.
  • Lead real-time coverage of breaking news and live events by integrating live feeds, visuals, audio, and storytelling context.
  • Organize and schedule programming that caters specifically to a streaming-first audience.
  • Pitch and create innovative show ideas and digital-first video segments.
  • Collaborate with newsroom leaders, digital teams, and field reporters to align live and recorded content.
  • Use audience insights and analytics to inform content choices and improve performance.
  • Support inclusive storytelling that authentically represents the diversity of our local community.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in streaming, digital video, and audience consumption habits.
  • Adapt existing broadcast and web content for optimized streaming presentation.
  • Play a key role in shaping the voice and identity of KSL+ through compelling visual journalism.
  • Write, produce and edit material for a newscast that appeals to targeted audiences.
  • Be creative, aggressive and energetic, reflecting maximum quality and professionalism to build audience share with excellent judgement.
  • Meet strict deadlines and handle stress effectively.
  • Organize, delegate and motivate other people across different departments, including graphics and production in order to coordinate news activities from conceptualization to successful execution.
  • Be dependable and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years of successful producing experience in a broadcast or digital newsroom environment, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a newsroom leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong editorial judgment with excellent writing, communication, and producing skills.
  • Demonstrated creativity, energy, and drive to create high-quality, engaging content that grows audience share.
  • Proven ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure, especially during high-stakes or fast-developing news situations.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks during peak news cycles.
  • Skilled at leading, coordinating, and motivating cross-functional teams in a collaborative newsroom setting.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable, with a consistent track record of dependability and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage stress effectively while maintaining accuracy and focus in high-pressure environments
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere or similar editing tools is highly valued.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make a positive impact on department’s productivity.
  • Eligible to be a remote position.

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation

$ 23.00 - $27.00. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
