Job Description
Due to expansion, our multi-discipline firm is seeking a Senior Manager or Municipal Engineering. CP Engineers, Architecture & Environmental Services has forty years of experience in site/ civil, water/ wastewater, municipal, MEP and environmental services. Our project portfolio includes private, municipal, county and regional clients; some have been with our firm for three decades.
This is a Hybrid Remote role, based in either our Morris or Sussex County offices. For uniquely qualified candidates, 100% Remote from within the NY/NJ/Philly region can be considered.
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of municipal projects, including roads and stormwater management.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff.
- Act as a primary point of contact for municipal clients, ensuring strong relationships and high-quality service delivery.
- Represent municipalities as a municipal or board engineer, attending public meetings and advising local governments on engineering matters.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, proposals, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and adherence to design specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
- 10+ years of experience in municipal engineering.
- Experience serving as a municipal or board engineer, representing towns and attending municipal meetings.
- Extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure design, permitting, and construction processes.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Experience in proposal preparation, client interface, and business development.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Experience with regulatory agencies and permitting processes in New Jersey.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and municipal meetings as needed.
