Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
ComEd’s social media team develops and manages strategic, innovative, engaging social media communications supporting our companywide brand strategy. The manager of social media provides day-to-day direction of a team of four executing data-driven social strategy for ComEd and helps drive related governance across the Exelon family of companies. The position develops engaging, strategic, organic and paid social media campaigns informed by internal and industry metrics.
The position provides support for Exelon's operating companies on governance, best practices, aligning editorial strategy, and content creation and amplification. The position executes ComEd’s social media advertising, managing all social paid social media budget, vendors, and related development funding. Work of the team and the manager includes supporting the integrated marketing communications programs and reputation management program. The position supervises a diverse, talented team of social media specialists and creative resources. The social media team works closely with ComEd’s brand and marketing team, media relations and internal communications teams to execute a companywide integrated communications strategy.
Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- The manager of social media provides day-to-day direction of the team executing data-driven social strategy for ComEd. The position develops engaging, strategic, organic and paid social media campaigns informed by internal and industry metrics.
- Provide counsel to ComEd CEO, Senior Leadership Team and other company executives and leaders, informed by industry expertise and relevant external and internal metrics.
- Oversee ComEd creative team consisting of a graphic designer and two videographer/photographers
- The position provides support for ComEd on governance, best practices, aligning editorial strategy, and content creation and amplification.
- Work of the team and the manager includes supporting the integrated marketing communications
programs and reputation management programs. The position supervises a diverse, talented team of social media specialists as well as an in-house graphic designer, videographer and photographer.
- Develop and oversee execution of social media communications work related to projects for
ComEd initiatives and provide counsel on marketing projects, including advertising, digital content, special events, and other vehicles.
- Manage vendor relationships and budgets for social media communications.
- Oversee creation of reports and presentations used to provide internal guidance related to social media.

JOB SCOPE
- High level of strategic thinking, digital and branding experience, creativity and writing skill required
- Self-starter with ability to work independently.
- Reports to Sr. Manager, Executive Communications & Events with accountability for client satisfaction among internal clients
- Supervises social media specialists and reporters.
- Requires strategic planning and execution of digital, branding and integrated marketing communications campaigns, as well as management of budgets and forecasts.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year degree in Communications, Digital Communications, Journalism or related field.
- Minimum 10 years in the communications field, with at least 6 years in digital/social media communications.
- Excellent verbal communication, writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and management skills
- A high level of self-motivation and independence will be critical, as will strategic thinking and organizational sensitivity
- Excellent follow through capability; demands high level of performance from self and others
- Exceptional creativity, innovation and strategic thinking.
- Experience with managing social media, video, and other digital platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing and or executing paid and organic social media campaigns.
- Experience managing vendors and budgets.
- Demonstrated managerial experience.
- Experience working with senior executives
- Knowledge of layout/design principles.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in Digital or Integrated Marketing Communications or MBA
- Strong relationships with marquee social media platforms used by ComEd

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $96,000.00/Yr. – $132,000.00/Yr.
