Student AdvisingPosition Summary
The Program Coach provides resources, advisement, and support to APRENDE participants via 1-on-1, small group, or large group meetings. In addition to student support, this position will maintain community partnerships and work closely with students and faculty on supervision and program alignment. The APRENDE Program Coach utilizes reflective conversation and motivational interviewing strategies along with observation-based feedback to support continuous improvement with participants through coaching and training.Duties & Responsibilities
- Participates in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement
- Builds and manages external employer and mentor partnerships
- Works with state and federal workforce programs to support APRENDE participants
- Understands and follows federal and state apprenticeship regulations
- Provides resources, advisement, and support to APRENDE participants
- Works collaboratively with other ECCOE staff to integrate support across programs
- Attains and maintains certifications related to coaching and classroom assessment
- Provides training, technical assistance, and mentoring to all APRENDE stakeholders
- Coordinates with stakeholders on early childhood workforce development
- Travels to employer sites across New Mexico to support in-classroom professional development
- Other duties as assigned

- Ability to pass a background check.

- Business level knowledge of Microsoft and job-related software programs.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in coaching and mentoring teachers to improve their practice
- Ability to communicate with diverse students, employers, community members
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals representing different skills, attitudes, and disciplines among the college community.
- Ability to travel to and from participant locations to provide observations, coaching, and training.
- Ability to represent ECCOE at public meetings, conferences, and board meetings.
- Ability to apply Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to programs and procedures

- As scheduled
- Non-traditional hours and weekends to support APRENDE programs and training
Physical Demands
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office and in early childhood classrooms.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years of related experience working in program support, non-profits, or early childhood
- Travel required - Must possess a driver’s license and vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or a closely related field
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience working in licensed early childhood education settings
- 2 years of mentorship or coaching experience in education
