Currently, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Nurse Consultant to join our vibrant team and provide consultation with facilities to develop plans for improvement in areas of resident care and compliance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations and nurse practice acts in
assigned areas of service.
2. Assists with policy development and review as part of the Cavalier Healthcare Policy and
Procedure Committee, as well as ensuring compliance with those policies and procedures.
3. Provide consultation with facilities and regional leadership to develop plans for improvement.
Communicates status and subsequent progress to the facility Administrator.
4. Visits to each assigned facility, providing verbal and/or written reports as needed. Develops
work plans/timelines to restore challenged facilities to compliance and Company standards.
5. Follows up on new initiatives and work plans and appropriately assesses progress from
previous visits. Communicates progress to the facility and corporate team members. Provide
weekly reports on facility visits to include findings and plans for correction.
6. Ensures that all OSHA and safety standards are followed in the facility in accordance with
state and federal regulations and Cavalier Healthcare policies and procedures.
7. Ensures appropriate training/competency training of employees involved in medication
assistance by state regulations and Company standards. Assists with the review &
investigation of medication errors and controlled substance discrepancies and/or diversions.
Ensures in-service training is conducted based on ongoing plans of correction and “PIP”
initiatives.
8. Works closely with staff to address resident care and compliance issues. Provides
professional consulting expertise to operations when planning, implementing, and evaluating
the implementation of new services or programs that would impact resident care and
services.
9. Provides a leadership role in the implementation of Quality Assurance and Improvement
Programs.
10. Provides oversight of work plans and state plans of correction to ensure timely and accurate
completion, leading to ongoing sustained compliance with state regulations and Cavalier
Healthcare policies.
11. Provides information about clinical “best practices” to the facility and corporate team.
12. Provide quarterly education and on-point seminars to appropriate staff based on pertinent
topics.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) currently licensed by the State and in good standing with the Board of Nursing in the State in which the facility is located.
· Must have 5 years of Reginal Nurse Experience.
SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:
· Tasks and procedures performed by the employee involve risks classified by C.D.C. as Category I. (Direct contact with blood or other bodily fluids to which universal precautions apply.)
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to tolerate a high pace as typical for a nursing facility. Must be able to take and give instructions well and enjoy working with the elderly. Although the employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of time, he/she must also be able to tolerate prolonged standing and walking.
