Position Summary
The Vice President, Oncology Global Commercial Strategy reports to the SVP, Oncology Commercialization and is a high exposure and dynamic role responsible for leading commercial development and global commercialization of our Oncology portfolio (partnering alongside our leaders within Cell Therapy, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Immunology).
This role is global in nature and partners closely with Medical, Access, R&D and Corporate Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for all Worldwide Commercial activities for the BMS Oncology Portfolio, including:
- Defining and implementing a therapeutic area (TA) vision and strategy from a Commercial perspective, and partnering with closely with Global Development, Early Development & Research, Medical, Business Development, Value Access & Pricing, Business Insights & Analytics and other key functions to deliver on TA strategic objectives
- Leading development and delivery of global TA commercial strategies, plans and budget recommendations and partnering closely with markets to execute against those strategies
- Identify and frame key strategic Oncology issues facing BMS; work with leadership to develop possible strategic choices and lead team to conduct compelling analysis
- Driving organizational efficiency by managing Strategy/ BD, Early and late-stage development of the product lifecycle across Oncology
- Compelling communication of TA vision, strategy, objectives and recommendations effectively to executive management, governance committees, functional partners, and geographically diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring TA commercial development, life-cycle management and go-to-market strategies are translated into clear goals and objectives for all members of the organization; ensure alignment and resources to achieve goals
- Accelerate the product portfolio by driving excellence in execution and ensuring the strategy cascades to the US and regional teams seamlessly
- Effective partnership with business development organization in support of M&A and partnering opportunities that are aligned with TA strategy
- Partner with market colleagues and WW Commercialization team on in-line strategy to successfully deliver on indication opportunities
- Accountable for commercial input into upcoming data readouts and development of comprehensive global commercial launch plans for new indications
- Key deliverables/accountabilities include Long-Term Strategic and Financial Plans, Annual Strategic Plan, Launch Readiness planning and tracking, capability planning, resourcing and prioritization for the TA.
- Creating a high-performing team culture that inspires integrity, urgency, accountability, innovation, passion and inclusion.
- Attract and develop the best talent and ensure robust succession plan for key positions and contribute to our Commercial Development Talent strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS/BA or equivalent required; an MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years bio-pharmaceutical experience, with > 8 years of commercial/marketing experience. US or International market experience preferred. Hematology experience strongly preferred.
- Strong command of the drug development process as well as international regulatory and HTA dynamics
- Strong track record of delivering results, leading cross functional teams, collaborating well across functions and geographies, developing/ mentoring others in a multi-cultural environment, driving performance and fostering teamwork
- Demonstrated financial acumen
- Demonstrated strategic skills, synthesizing information to tell a compelling story, framing problems, asking the right questions, and driving strategic choices
- Ability to manage complexity, shape ambiguity, facilitate candid discussions and challenge status quo
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence and align stakeholders
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $328,310.00 USD to 397,900.00 USD, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
