Position Summary
We are seeking a bold, visionary leader to serve as our Senior Vice President of Curriculum Design, a key architect of youth development experiences that spark learning, build skills, and change lives. This executive will lead the strategy, development, and implementation of high-quality, evidence-based programming and curriculum across all after-school, summer, and enrichment programs serving over 10,000 young people annually.
This is not an operations role—this is a design and impact role. You will be the force behind what happens in the program: the learning experiences, activities, curriculum models, and developmental outcomes. You will work in deep partnership with operations leaders who manage site delivery, ensuring staff are equipped and inspired to bring your vision to life.

Key Responsibilities
- Design & Strategy: Develop an innovative, outcomes-driven program and curriculum strategy aligned with organizational goals, youth needs, and evidence-based practices.
- Program Development: Lead the creation and refinement of curriculum, learning frameworks, activity guides, and resources for K-12 youth across diverse program areas (e.g., academics, enrichment, SEL, leadership, and college/career readiness).
- Staff Readiness & Support: Ensure front-line and mid-level staff receive engaging training, tools, and coaching to implement programs with fidelity and confidence.
- Continuous Improvement: Oversee quality assurance processes, including program evaluations, pilot testing, fidelity monitoring, and feedback loops to refine content and impact.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with operations, training, compliance, and data teams to ensure alignment across the organization and deliver a unified program experience.
- Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of trends in youth development, curriculum innovation, and expanded learning. Serve as a voice in elevating the organization’s profile locally and nationally.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience designing large-scale youth development or educational programs (afterschool, K-12, nonprofit, or out-of-school time preferred)
- Strategic thinker with exceptional curriculum design skills and a track record of translating vision into action
- Deep understanding of child and adolescent development, learning science, and equity-based practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills; able to influence across departments and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive innovation, and manage complexity in a fast-paced environment
Requirements

Education and/or Expertise
• Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, Masters preferred.
• A minimum of ten years management experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar multi-million dollar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience in leading organizations, over 150 employees.
Computer & Equipment Skills
• Microsoft Sharepoint & Office Suite, emphasis on Excel
• Database management experience, Salesforce a plus

• Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
• Experience working with local government, boards of directors and major donors.
Requirements
• Personal vehicle, valid driver's license and auto insurance strongly preferred.
• Must reside in Sonoma or Marin counties and office daily out of Santa Rosa.
• Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential physical functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position.
• Requires ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, squat, pull/push, grasp up to 4-8 hours per day.
