Job Description

About This Role:

As the Strategy & Operations Lead for Global Engineering & Technical Services (GETS), you will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic priorities, enabling operational excellence, and maximizing executive effectiveness across a diverse global technical portfolio. Working as a trusted advisor to the SVP of GETS, you will ensure alignment, focus, and execution of initiatives that span engineering, EH&S, Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Manufacturing Network Strategy, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing Corporate Partnerships.

This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational management, serving as the connective tissue across the GETS Leadership Team. With your deep understanding of organizational dynamics, you will drive data-driven decisions, cross-functional collaboration, and ensure the SVP’s vision is translated into actionable results. This role requires a blend of business acumen, operational rigor, and emotional intelligence to navigate the dynamic landscape of the biopharmaceutical industry.

This is a hybrid role to be based at our Headquarters in Cambridge, MA.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead GETS strategy formulation, OKR development, and annual planning processes in collaboration with the SVP and Leadership Team.

  • Orchestrate day-to-day executive operations, including staff meetings, strategic forums, and high-impact engagements.

  • Develop executive communications, board updates, and internal messaging that reflect coherent and impactful narratives for the GETS organization.

  • Partner with Finance to oversee budgeting, capital planning, and performance metric tracking, supporting resource prioritization and business case development.

  • Collaborate with HR to manage organizational health, foster leadership team dynamics, and strengthen GETS culture.

  • Act as a strategic delegate for the SVP on priority initiatives, special projects, and GETS-wide transformations.

  • Coordinate alignment and readiness with enterprise governance owners and other cross-functional teams.

  • Monitor the execution of strategic plans, evaluate risks, and ensure alignment across functions.

  • Facilitate trade-off decisions and resource allocations to support the organization’s goals.

  • Drive transformation initiatives, particularly those involving digital enablement and operating model evolution.

Who You Are:

You are a strategic thinker with a strong ability to synthesize complex information and connect the dots across multiple priorities. You thrive in fast-paced environments and excel at navigating ambiguity, ensuring alignment in cross-functional teams. With your exceptional executive presence, you build trust and credibility as a trusted advisor while maintaining discretion and professionalism. You are adaptable, balancing urgency with tact and structure with flexibility, all while maintaining a forward-looking mindset. Your ability to influence without formal authority and mobilize teams ensures progress and alignment towards organizational goals.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Engineering or Operations, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in global operations, engineering, or technical services, ideally within the life sciences or biotech sector.

  • Proven ability to operate at senior executive levels, with a track record of leading through influence and enabling strategic execution.

  • Strong project management, executive communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to anticipate challenges in complex environments.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on data-driven solutions.

  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives and operating model evolution.

  • Familiarity with enterprise governance structures and cross-functional alignment processes.

  • Background in managing organizational culture and leadership team effectiveness.
