The VP of Growth Business Operations is responsible for applying analytics to improve growth-related decision efficiency. This executive must thrive in an environment where they are responsible for managing and executing a data-informed approach to the investment strategy for business development, capture, and IRAD activities across the enterprise. The executive will routinely be responsible developing and refining models that best inform executive decisions associated with ROI of opportunity pursuits, pipeline sufficiency, and award plans. The ideal candidate will have previously served as a business operations executive with proven experience supporting growth operations.

Successful candidates will be able to conceptualize and implement a growth operations strategy that ensures BigBear.ai | A higher form of decision intelligence. can confidently adjust to changing market conditions while instilling confidence in strategic and tactical decisions that create value and deliver tangible results.

 

This is a fully remote position.

 

 


What you will do

Lead integrated planning:

  • Derive opportunity-level investment algorithms and verify investments required to achieve submit plan fit within budget envelop.
  • Conduct pipeline simulations to assess probability that award plans can deliver growth consistent with top-down targets.
  • Integrate award plans with revenue objectives.  Awards – Fall-Off – Bookings – Revenue.
  • Develop PowerBI reporting to reflect relevant BD metrics – submits/awards forecast vs plan, pipeline throughput, investment spend budget v actual.

Implement Forecasting Cadence:

  • Conduct monthly pipeline reviews focused on comparing current CRM to plans.
  • Capture forecast metrics comprised of planned submits and awards gradually showing adds/drops as acquisitions shift.
  • Conduct upside/downside risk assessments to meet/exceed targets within budget envelope.

ROI Validation for IRADs:

 

Develop business case framework for assessing ROI for any number of potential IRADs.

Document the alignment to strategy and list of opportunities the IRAD enables.

Conduct Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis with resultant metrics, NPV, Payback, IRR, and ROI.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

 

Manage estimates of impact to staffing associated with award plans (Operations & Growth).

Model impacts of award to Direct Labor base and manage forward rates to improve competitiveness (Growth/Finance/Operations).

 


What you need to have

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of related experience or Master’s degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant business operations activities, including building financial models, assessing win probability, and implementing data-driven approaches to forecasting, ROI, and risk assessments.
  • This role requires that the successful candidate have a proven track record of successful growth operations execution in both GovCon and Commercial markets.
  • Technical experience developing algorithms and models derived from financial and CRM data.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and prior experience briefing executives.
  • Limited travel as necessary.

What we'd like you to have

  • 10+ years of direct experience leading Growth Business Operations for Fed/Civ government contractor (National Security preferred).
  • Financial modeling experience using Microsoft Power BI (or similar tools).
