Job Description

Who we are

Aurora’s mission is to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly.

The Aurora Driver will create a new era in mobility and logistics, one that will bring a safer, more efficient, and more accessible future to everyone.

At Aurora, you will tackle massively complex problems alongside other passionate, intelligent individuals, growing as an expert while expanding your knowledge. For the latest news from Aurora, visit aurora.tech or follow us on LinkedIn.

At Aurora, we’re not just filling requisitions - we’re building a company that will redefine how the world moves. Our Talent Acquisition team sits at the heart of that ambition, serving as trusted partners who translate bold business goals into the hiring strategies that make them real. We believe great TA leaders are craftspeople: they obsess over process excellence, data-driven insight, and candidate experience, honing their expertise the way an engineer perfects code.

If you’re energized by scaling organizations at the frontier of autonomy, and you view recruiting as a rigorous discipline rather than a transactional task list, you’ll thrive here. You’ll have an active hand in architecting Aurora’s next stage - shaping hiring strategies, elevating our employer brand, and mentoring a high-performing team of recruiters and sourcers who share your passion for mastery. Join us to build the business behind the breakthrough. Please note, we are considering Managers and Senior Managers for this position.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead by example as a player-coach
    • Carry a prorated requisition load, enough to stay sharp, model best practices, and absorb spikes without overextending the team
    • Share real-time learnings from your own searches to level-up pod playbooks
  • Own end-to-end recruiting delivery for your pod
    • Translate headcount plans into clear priorities, search strategies, and interviewer bandwidth allocation
    • Safeguard time-to-hire, quality-of-hire, and candidate-experience
  • Drive hiring funnel health and transparency.
    • Proactively monitor age-of-req, volume, conversion, offer-acceptance, and other key metrics; intervene before hiring health slips, escalating early when cross-pod alignment or resourcing is the fastest path to recovery
  • Coach and develop a high-performing team
    • Set OKRs, deliver continuous feedback, and proactively drive up-skilling efforts
    • Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning
  • Run disciplined capacity planning
    • Model recruiter productivity; surface over/under-capacity scenarios with solution options (e.g., reprioritization, contractor ramp)
  • Drive process improvements that boost speed and quality
    • Pilot and scale initiatives (intake refreshes, interview-ops automation, diversity-sourcing sprints) with measurable ROI, and contribute expertise to cross-pod projects that advance company-wide hiring goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on full-cycle recruiting expertise across multiple disciplines
  • Data fluency & storytelling that influences decisions
  • People-management fundamentals - clear expectations, coaching, recognition
  • Stakeholder collaboration with healthy pushback
  • Continuous-improvement mindset anchored in experimentation and ROI
  • Organizational agility - juggles multiple searches and priorities effectively

The base salary range for this position is $143,000-$229,000 per year.  Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
