Under management direction and as part of a goal-driven, analytical team, the Product Manager I is responsible for managing and analyzing the performance of assigned Consumer or Business Products. Key responsibilities include:
Core Product Management – overseeing product creation, development, enhancement, maintenance, and portfolio planning.
Applied Product Management – collaborating with stakeholders on go-to-market strategies, including pricing, finance, marketing, distribution support, forecasting, reporting, and performance metrics, while ensuring compliance.
The role requires close coordination with teams across Technology (legacy and digital), Marketing, Data, Compliance, Operations, Customer Care, Risk, Legal, and Customer Experience. Ongoing communication with Digital and Branch Banking is essential to align with competitive, regulatory, and strategic developments.
This person will also:
Develop and bring new products within the category to market. Manage product lifecycle, roadmap and enhancement schedule.
Collaborate to ensure capacity and resources from technical and go-to-market partners. Build out business benefits for product changes and align data and reporting metrics to measure performance.
As needed, identify potential external providers, conduct due diligence, negotiate agreements, and report on service level agreements.
Collaborate with Retail channel owners on product sales and support channel strategies. Communicate product information to sales force and product support functions.
Review and recommend enhancements to product related training in support of these strategies.
Ensure product set meets all compliance requirements. Implement product modifications required by systems and regulatory changes.
Develop promotional concepts with Marketing Advisory or with external vendors if applicable (including acquisition, retention, share of wallet, utilization and activation programs), drawing on research and analysis provided by Corporate and Business Intelligence or outside research.
Collaborate with Finance and Vendors where applicable to ensure data for comprehensive product reporting is available. Leverage research (see above) and internal product information (sales, profitability) to provide detailed product performance analysis.
Coordinate product research (market, customer, vendor, and internal partners) and analysis to identify key trends. Conduct competitive analysis and define competitive parity and competitive advantage and continually pursue new and innovative fintech trends.
Define the Product Value Proposition and initiate measures to ensure competitive position of company’s product set.
Identify opportunities to enhance product financial contribution (e.g. fee review, opportunities to reduce product delivery cost).
Inform, facilitate, and lead where applicable product design and functional discussions, leveraging appropriate decision-makers.
Participate in creation and ongoing management of overall product portfolio strategy (synthesized product plans) and translate into underlying individual product plans.
Develop succinct communication and lead presentations to all levels of internal audiences.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business or Marketing. Required
Experience
2-4 years Marketing and/or Product Management with meaningful exposure to various consumer and business markets. Required
