Front-End Engineer

Pay Details:

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $100,000 to $125,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Front-End Engineer to join our dynamic team in the data analytics department of hockey operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web application design and development.  As the Front-End Engineer you will work closely with our stakeholders to build and maintain high-quality web applications for Hockey Operations. Working within the hockey analytics team you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact and drive innovation for the Anaheim Ducks. As a member of the Hockey Operations team, the Front-End Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the user-facing part of websites and web applications for the Anaheim Ducks. This position will work closely with our design and back-end teams to build and maintain high-quality web applications and a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create, deploy and iterate on a new web application to support management decisions for the hockey operations department

  • Collaborate closely with our data engineer and data scientist to reimagine existing visualizations and create new ones that are responsive, intuitive and visually appealing

  • Deliver high quality web application code while implementing best practices for architecture, design, coding standards & CI/CD

  • Use the Azure cloud to deploy and host the application

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Proficiency in Front-End Technologies: Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a front-end engineer working with JavaScript (preferably TypeScript), CSS and HTML

  • Experience with Frameworks/Libraries: Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js

  • Understanding of Responsive Design: Ability to create responsive designs that work across various devices

  • Familiarity with Version Control Systems: Experience with Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a love for technical challenges

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of hockey: Knowledge of hockey is key to communicating effectively with those outside the department

  • Knowledge of Python: Experience writing production-grade code in Python

  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelines: Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes
