As a key member of our team, the Controller may support multiple affiliated companies under our corporate umbrella, requiring adaptability, discretion, and a collaborative mindset. What You’ll Do
- Financial Leadership: Partner with local & RBI leadership to create monthly earnings and cash forecasts, analyzing variances against budget, prior months, and year-over-year trends.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the President to manage overall company performance and strategic initiatives.
- Executive Reporting: Prepare and co-present monthly Business Reviews to the RBI executive team alongside the President.
- Audit Management: Serve as the primary liaison for all audits - including bank, borrowing base, 401(k), and financial statements - ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns and annual franchise tax filings.
- M&A Support: In the event of a M&A transaction, provide support to the RBI team on calculating complex financial transactions related to acquisitions, including earnouts, net working capital adjustments, and purchase price allocations.
- Support Multiple Entities: Support multiple affiliated companies under our corporate umbrella, requiring adaptability, discretion, and a collaborative mindset.
- Inventory Oversight: Track, evaluate, and account for inventory costing to ensure accuracy of balance sheet and efficiency of operations.
- Team Supervision: Lead the Accounting team in managing invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, financial modeling, and more.
- ERP Implementation: Partner with IT to improve on a new ERP system launched in last 12 months—overseeing data review, configuration, training, and deployment.
- System Integrity: Act as the primary financial systems user, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability.
- Team Development: Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff, providing clear direction and performance evaluation.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles within manufacturing or distribution.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA with a concentration in Finance or Accounting and/or CPA designation
