As a Director, Internal Communications, you will be trusted to lead our global internal communications strategy. This role is pivotal in aligning our associates with Alcon’s mission, vision, and values while driving engagement strengthening culture, and supporting business growth at Fort Worth, TX. In this role, a typical day will include:
Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that connects associates to Alcon’s purpose and strategic priorities.
Champion storytelling that brings our culture, values, and behaviors to life. Design campaigns that inspire, inform, and engage our global workforce.
Collaborate closely with HR, Legal, and Executive Leadership to support change management, compliance, and risk communications.
Guide and support senior leaders in crafting impactful messaging and communication strategies that resonate across the organization.
Lead internal communications for key enterprise efforts, including end-to-end process transformation, D&I, culture initiatives, innovation milestones, and crisis response.
Oversee the development and optimization of internal communication channels and tools in partnership with Digital & Data Analytics and Brand Communications.
Exceptional writing and editing especially in crafting executive messaging, internal campaigns, and communications around organizational change.
Establish and maintain internal communication guidelines, policies, and performance metrics to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
Serve as a key leader in internal crisis communication planning and execution, ensuring timely and transparent communication across all levels.
Familiarity with platforms such as intranets, Poppulo, Staffbase, Microsoft Teams, Viva Engage, video tools, and survey platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
10 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in mid-to-large organizations or matrixed/global environment
Experience in tech, healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries.
Experience working with distributed or remote workforces.
Knowledge of employee experience platforms or employee engagement best practices.
10+ years of progressive experience in internal communications or corporate communications.
At least 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
Proven experience in strategic planning, employee engagement, change communications, and executive messaging.
