About the Role
The Data Platform team at AKASA is a deeply cross-functional team, consisting of engineering, analytics, and data science roles. The team collaborates closely with most teams throughout the organization, including but not limited to; Product, Core Platform Engineering, Machine Learning, and Customer Engagement.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer at AKASA, your work will be highly visible and critical for communicating the value of our latest generative AI based product offerings. You will leverage your SQL skills to build out content in our metrics layer, create useful and visually appealing content in our BI tool, and have your work directly consumed by both internal and external stakeholders.
The AKASA office is located in South San Francisco. While we support remote work on a variety of teams, we have a strong Bay Area presence across the company. For this role, we're looking for someone to join either our Bay Area team every Wednesday in the office or our NYC team for co-working days.
What You'll Do
Further develop AKASA’s metrics layer by building SQL-based DBT pipelines running within the data warehouse (Redshift)
Build and maintain dashboards in AKASA’s current BI tool (SuperSet), demonstrating thoughtfulness to how this content will be leveraged by stakeholders
Help support the underlying BI tooling infrastructure and become a key contributor to setting future BI strategy
Take on ad hoc exploratory data analytics requests
Develop a deep understanding of healthcare data and AKASA’s generative AI-based product offerings, ultimately becoming an expert in both
Skills & Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or similar
3+ years of analytics, BI engineering, Data Engineering, or similar experience
Strong professional experience in SQL
Professional BI Tooling experience (Tableau/Looker/Quicksight/SuperSet, etc)
Experience building out dashboards that clearly fulfill business needs
Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate their needs into data platform assets
A delivery-focused mindset

Compensation
Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $180,000 - $205,000 + Equity. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
