Senior Android Engineer, Pricing Guidance

The Host Pricing team is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help us craft the next generation of tools for Airbnb hosts. We build features that empower our hosts to run their businesses more effectively - giving them tools and insights that help them optimize pricing and drive better returns. As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll help build the next generation of guidance features that help hosts run their business day-to-day.

Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers, and Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on Android. Leverage your UI, Compose, and animation expertise to bring our Android app to the next level and create delightful user experiences. Build efficient and reusable mobile components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable mobile solutions. Identify areas of improvement and drive mobile best practices.

A Typical Day:

• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on Android
• Build efficient and reusable mobile components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable mobile solutions
• Follow data-driven approaches to conduct experiments and iterate features 
• Identify areas of improvement and advocate for mobile best practices

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years' industry experience in Android development
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. 
• You possess strong product sense, a passion for UI and UX product development, and can effectively communicate with non-technical partners
• Demonstrated ability to proactively collaborate with Product Management, Design, Data and other Android, iOS, and Web Engineers
• Pushing boundaries of design and product features by balancing tradeoffs and iterating to the ideal solution
• You’re passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry
• **Bonus Nice-to-have Skills:.
• Experience designing smooth, engaging animations in Jetpack Compose.
• Ability to profile and optimize Jetpack Compose for fast,  jank-free performance.
• Proficiency in crafting automated tests suites that preserve quality and accelerate releases.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
