What we’re looking for…
As a Marketing Manager On Trade for FUNKIN Cocktails at AG Barr you will have the unique hybrid opportunity to lead the development and execution of strategic brand marketing as well as on-trade advocacy initiatives and hospitality campaigns that drive both brand awareness and bartender ambassadorship across the FUNKIN Cocktails range.
Responsible for the brand planning process of the FUNKIN Professional portfolio as well as curating high-impact, insight-driven bartender initiatives that align with overall business objectives, you will bring your advanced expertise marketing brands within the on-premise channel, a deep understanding of B2B marketing, advocacy techniques and product path to consumer through the on trade.
Experienced in building hospitality campaigns and a good network within the hospitality channel, you will deliver results that strengthen brand equity and business growth.
Your responsibilities will include...
- Strategic Brand Marketing & Portfolio Management: Development and deployment of the FUNKIN Professional portfolio’s* growth strategy across the UK and International markets including SKU prioritisation, visual identity and strategic market opportunities. *puree, mixer, syrup, liqueurs.
- Bartender Advocacy & Conversion: Identify strategies and event opportunities to enhance bartender advocacy as part of broader hospitality campaigns, including identifying regional in-bar ambassadors, industry conferences, awards and large-scale trade shows, driving conversion through impactful promotional campaigns. Management of drinks development agency partners to ensure strategies are aligned to brand goals.
- Industry Leadership & Trends: Working alongside the category team, be the expert voice in AG Barr on the latest hospitality trends, best practices, and innovations, integrating cutting-edge strategies to optimise campaign effectiveness.
- NPD Curation: Working alongside data and innovation teams, develop the NPD pipeline for FUNKIN using a balance of ‘big commercial bets’ and bartender equity driving NPD.
- Press/PR and Trade Hub: Responsible for the development of all product and campaign key visuals across on-trade advertising including the management of press programmes with agency PR partners and working with the AG Barr Digital team on the FUNKIN Trade Hub website strategy.
- Festival Consumer Awareness Programme: Working alongside Brand team colleagues, own the relationship with festival agencies and implementation of a tailored activation strategy across the FUNKIN range.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership, Brand Activation, Commercial Controller, Sales, Category, Innovation, Digital Marketing and Retail partners to ensure brand marketing initiatives are aligned with broader business strategies and executed effectively.
- Program Optimisation & Performance Tracking: Lead the analysis and measurement of campaign performance, consumer and trade data, and market trends, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure that programs are driving measurable results and delivering maximum ROI.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage and allocate the on-trade brand marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are used efficiently to support key initiatives and drive growth across the FUNKIN portfolio.
What you’ll bring...
- Qualifications:
- Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred, with experience working with on-trade necessary
- Significant professional experience with minimum 2 years in either brand management or brand activation of a consumer goods brand
- A proven track record of developing and executing successful, large-scale campaigns that strengthen brand equity and consumer awareness
- Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of on-trade buyer and consumer behaviour, retail dynamics, brand activation and the path to purchase, with expertise in leveraging insights to curate brand campaigns and drive awareness
- A passion for the FUNKIN brand and the hospitality industry, with a deep understanding of cocktail trends and on-trade landscape
- Developed leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Advanced analytical skills, with experience using data to optimise strategies, improve brand performance and deliver measurable business results
- Highly creative and innovative mindset, capable of developing fresh, engaging, impactful marketing and activation initiatives.
